For most boats, it was a week to stay in port and work on the decks and motors at Oregon Inlet. A few boats ventured out on Monday and caught mahi-mahi and had good results with billfish. Big Browns on the South Tommy Lawhorne of South River Fly Shop in Waynesboro went on an electro-shocking expedition with the Game Department biologists and said they shocked up a 25-inch brown trout. Goodbye Cobia
Dr. Ken Neill III says that the cobia are mostly gone - but some continue to be caught. They are being boated mostly be anglers chumming on the hills in the bay and along the oceanfront as well as off of the buoys as they head south.
