Now is the time to be on the Outer Banks when it comes to fishing. A long-time friend, Capt. Reese Stecher, docks his boat at Oregon Inlet, and can put his clients on puppy drum, speckled trout, flounder, bluefish, and many other species within a matter of minutes. He has been catching limits of both puppy drum and specks over the past 4 or 5 weeks. And soon, the rockfish will arrive, setting up shop at the base of the Oregon Inlet Bridges.
Capt., Stecher is a light tackle specialist. He wants his clients to catch the fish, not the boat.
I have fished with Reese for over 15 years and recommend him highly. Check out his web site at Beachbumfishing.com or give him a call at (252) 449-0232 or (252) 202-1701 to set up a trip.

Hatteras anglers had to wait patiently for the ocean to calm down, but it was worth the wait! On Wednesday, the “Hatteras Blue” released one sailfish and “Release” released three sailfish. The wahoo bite provided lots of action as anglers returned with excellent catches. Dolphin fishing was good and a few blackfin tuna were gaffed. The morning brought limits of keeper drum, speckled trout and bluefish for the inshore anglers. The afternoon bite was good for drum for everyone fishing the Pamlico Sound.
