Virginia Striper Season Underway
Much of the attention of Virginia saltwater anglers has turned to stripers. The bay and tributary season opened last week. Fish are largely scattered in the rivers. Mostly small keepers (22”-24”) and throwbacks are being caught. Cobia have left the building. Some big flounder are coming to net.
Billfishing remains good off Virginia Beach, but that should end shortly. Wahoo and king mackerel are taking up the slack.
