We have a Tractor Supply on the other side of Charlottesville, so I don’t make regular visits. But occasionally, I pass by and stop in. It is truly an interesting store. I generally go in when I’m low on birdseed as they have a huge selection of interesting varieties, and the prices are fair. I like to offer my backyard bird friends an assortment of seeds to draw lots of different types of birds. I’ll often pick up peanuts and seed with nuts and fruit, plus smaller seeds for my songbirds.
The interesting part of Tractor Supply, however, is their clothing. They have a great selection of work clothes and outdoor wear. A friend of mine bought a flannel-lined pair of slacks there with which to to play golf in the winter. And you can try stuff on right there – no guessing with mail order. TS has gun safes, livestock feed, grills, sheds, lots of tools, and even Christmas decorations. They sell boots and gloves, sweaters, and jackets. They have gifts and toys and of course, tractor and farm stuff. I saw a dog kennel there that would make a great fence for a backyard garden – to keep the deer at bay.
Tractor Supply is a big outfit. They have been in operation for 85 years and now have 2,200 stores in 49 states serving the needs of recreational farmers, ranchers, homeowners, gardeners, pet enthusiasts and all those who enjoy living “out thereâ€.
I don’t visit Tractor Supply as often as I should, but when I do, I always leave satisfied.
