I know most men on their special Father’s Day would like to play golf, go fishing, relax by the pool, play with grandbabies or do other things to make them happy. My husband, while any of those things would also make him happy, was willing to let me share his special day. So off we went to My Peeps Farm to visit baby goats and have some snuggle time with them.
This farm is amazing, and Cinda and her husband George, are very protective of their goats. They name each one, know their temperaments, habits and love each of them. Cinda sells some of her goats and just talking about one leaving makes her become very emotional. I certainly can relate to that and I teared up as she pointed to the young one that was about to leave. These are Cinda’s girls.
Farm life is hard, physically and emotionally. I lived on a beef farm from the age of 10 to 15. I hated when the trucks would come for the calves, but I have to tell you, steak is my favorite food. Raising chickens to become food for the freezer is hard as well. Seeing cute little baby chicks is enough to make me think twice about a baked hen on our table, but only twice. Cinda and her husband milk their goats and make delicious goat cheese and ice cream. While I’m personally not a fan of goat cheese, I understand they make the best.
I am in awe and so appreciate the value, hard work, love and passion that Cinda and George provide for My Peeps Farm. And for my husband sharing his special day with me.
