Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers are so good that the local Emmet Street location has been grinding traffic to a halt on US 29. Cars waiting to drive through and order are backed up nearly to the stoplight at Hydraulic Road.
There are sure a lot of “Caniacs” out there.
For many, there is only one Fried Chicken Finger, and that comes from Raising Canes Chicken Fingers – and what a success story. In college, Todd Graves had a vision of a owning and creating a restaurant that served high quality chicken fingers and nothing else. One of Todd’s professors said that idea was a non-starter. But the young man from Louisiana persisted and today there are over 500 Raising Cane’s Restaurants, and most are so busy they are all creating traffic jams.
Interestingly, Cane’s is one of many companies now experiencing the labor shortage, but Todd Graves said, “No problem, we’ll just have management fill in.”
As a result, the fellow who hands your order at the window may be an MBA from Harvard and the front-line cook might own the franchise.
If you happen to be headed 29 S near lunch or dinner time, don’t get in the far-right lane or you could find yourself blocked in and forced to go through the driveway and order a Raising Cane’s Chicken Finger Platter- which wouldn’t be an entirely bad thing to happen. After all, they do have the best Chicken Fingers on the planet.
