I am now one of Aldi’s staunchest supporters and admirers. They continue to amaze me with the quality of their products and their low prices. In recent times, several grocery products have exploded in price. Cereal, for one.
A box of Cheerios at Kroger’s is $4.29. Not a giant size – the regular 9-oz, box. I bought a 20-oz. box of the Aldi’s brand of Crispy Oats last week for $2.45 – twice as much for half the price. And I find them as good if not better than the Cheerios brand.
A loaf of Wonder Bread at Kroger’s is on sale now for $2.99. A loaf of L’oven Fresh White bread at Aldi’s is now 55-cents. That’s right. Fifty-five cents, and it’s good and it’s fresh.
A product at Aldi’s I particularly enjoy is their Thick Sliced Applewood Bacon. It’s
$4.25 pound and rivals Wrights Bacon in my opinion. Hamburger buns (also good and fresh) are $1.19 at Aldi’s. Large eggs are $1.25 a dozen, Countryside Butter is $2.59. Their cream cheese is $1.55. The list goes on and on.
The only downside to shopping at Aldi’s is that their selection is somewhat limited. But what they carry is always, always, well priced.
In these days of runaway inflation – particularly at grocery stores – Aldi’s can be a game changer.
