I’m heading for Hawaii in a couple weeks. My wife Nancy has put up with me for 50 years come March 3 and we are headed to the Aloha State to celebrate our anniversary. The March 9 edition of CvilleBuzz, in fact, will be devoted entirely to Hawaii. I will write the edition while aboard our liner, assuming I have Wi-Fi available, and I’m sure we will.
- I have never been to Hawaii, but Nancy went two years ago with our daughters and she said next time she went, she wouldn’t come back. She loved it. So I figure I better come with her this time in case she does decide to stay.
- I am really looking forward to absorbing the beauty that before, I have only seen from pictures and TV and I am also looking forward to a round of golf. I have never hit a ball in the Pacific Ocean before, and I expect to dunk a few off the cliffs of our course during my 18 hole round. The golf pro at the course will be on our ship and has set me up to play with three others aboard the ship. I’m hoping they are not scratch golfers that once played for the Arizona University golf team, but regular old duffers like me.
Our plans are to fly out of Baltimore to Houston, then to Honolulu where we will board our liner and cruise the islands. We plan to take a few tours and to do a little island exploring on our own, hoping not to get lost and miss our connection with the departing ship. Getting stuck in Hawaii? I guess there are worse things that could happen.
