Should your travels take you through Lewisburg, WV (at the intersection of Rt. 219 and I-64) and if you’re hungry, you are in luck. The friendly little town is full of great restaurants and at the top of the list is Food and Friends at 878 Washington St. (Main St.).
The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and an imposing menu. We ate there for lunch, and I was torn what to order. I ended up with one of the best Reuben Sandwiches I’ve ever put in my mouth. Nancy wolfed down her Oyster Po’boy, Beth had a Grilled Shrimp Salad, and Dave couldn’t finish a super-thick Burger smothered in Mozzarella Cheese.
It’s casual dining and inexpensive compared to most other restaurants. Reservations are highly recommended as many of the guests of the Greenbrier Hotel in nearby White Sulphur Springs make special trips to Lewisburg to dine at this 4 ½ star eatery.
