Homemade Reese’s Bars – It’s a fun treat to make, especially for kids, but hey, everybody loves Reese’s Cups. Put out a big bowl of assorted candy and no matter the age, Reese’s Cups go first. Chocolate and peanut butter is a winning combination.
Last week as a change of pace, I decided to make a batch of Homemade Reese’s Cup Bars instead of my usual Chocolate Chip Cookies. It’s easy and best of all, there is no baking involved. Here’s how.
Smash up the equivalent of 2 cups of Graham Crackers. One sleeve makes about that amount. Add 2 cups of powdered sugar, 1 C plus 4 T of peanut butter and 1 C of melted butter. Mix thoroughly and spread and press across the bottom of a 9×13 pan.
Put 1 ½ C of milk chocolate chips in the microwave oven and melt them – about 30 seconds does the job. Pour the melted chocolate over the Graham Cracker mixture and smooth it all out. Pop the dish into the fridge for about an hour to set, slice into bars and enjoy.
