Certainly, nothing is better than a gooey, grilled cheese sandwich. Buttery, rich, decadent. But how about hot dogs? How can you beat a fat hot dog smothered in mustard, catsup and all the fixing’s?
But what if you had a Grilled Cheese Hot Dog? Well, they are good, they are easy and everybody loves them.
I picked up this recipe from Yummly and want to share it.
Start with fresh Pepperidge Farm buns (the best), top sliced if possible.
Split the buns face down and spread melted butter on the. outside. Put the buns, butter side down, on a medium heat skillet and sprinkle the bun with sharp, shredded cheese. On the same skillet, split a hot dog length-wise and grill both sides until they start to brown. Transfer the dogs to the buns, add more cheese, close the bun and grill till all the cheese is melted.
That’s it. A Grilled Cheese Hot Dog and it don’t get no better.
