I had a bag of Cajun Shrimp Fry Breading that I was itching to use. I love Fried Shrimp, which I ordinarily only get at restaurants, but now was my time to shine. I went to Aldi’s to check out their frozen shrimp supply and found a 1-pound bag of Tiger Shrimp for about $11 and snatched it up. Tiger Shrimp have – by far – the best flavor of all the shrimps. They make for great Shrimp Cocktails and appetizers, and they do quite well in a frying pan or deep fryer.
There’s not much to it, really. Thaw the shrimp in the refrigerator, peel off the shells, and rinse. I did the double-dip method – rolling the shrimp first in the batter, then in a milk/egg wash, then back in the batter and into a hot skillet of vegetable oil. Make sure the oil is good and hot. Fry about 2 to 3 minutes per side (until crispy golden/brown) and you’re done.
This is a company-worthy dish. Try it next time you’re in the mood for seafood and do won’t to have to go out to eat.
