I used it this morning and I’m still not sure exactly how the thing works. It’s a Pineapple Tool made by a company named Imusa. This stainless-steel product makes short work of a usually difficult-to-prepare pineapple. It peels, cores, and slices the pineapple in one step. It will also cut wedges if you’d like. It’s simply amazing.
I really enjoy pineapples (apple pines, my children called them) but whacking off all that grungy part and removing the rock-hard core can be difficult. But not with this tool.
All you do is cut off the top, the leafy part, insert the tool in the center of the pineapple and with a little pressure, twist the handle until it reaches bottom. You then pull the entire sliced and cored fruit out and it’s ready to eat.
This is not one of those Ronco fads. It’s a serious piece of equipment – sturdy and sharp. Whoever invented this contraption deserves a Nobel Prize.
I didn’t realize this, but not only are pineapples tasty and quite affordable, they are serious health foods. Pineapples are rich in vitamins, enzymes, and antioxidants. They help boost the immune system, build strong bones, and aid indigestion. Despite their sweetness, pineapples are low in calories. Further, bromelain in pineapples works in conjunction with other enzymes to promote smooth digestion and appetite suppression.
With my new pineapple tool, I will definitely be eating more of this amazing and delicious fruit.
