Boy, what a deal. On a recent trip to Sam’s Club, I was poking around in the meat and deli section and saw a package of chicken breasts salvaged from the leftover rotisserie chickens. They had put 4 breast halves in a package for just $3.98. Not only was this a super buy, it is a super time-saver for cooking. I had intended to buy some chicken breasts anyway and cook them, then chop them up for chicken salad. How easy was this? There were just a few rib bones to discard, then chop up the breast meat. This is a great time saver for soups, salads, tacos, sandwiches, pot pies or most anything you would use chicken for.
The sign said “as available” so they might not always have them in stock, only when there is an oversupply of rotisserie chicken, but you could always freeze them when available and use as needed.
By the way, if you make chicken salad be sure to add a few apples to give it some sweetness and crunch, and from now on, check out either Sam’s Club or Costco for these great buys on chicken breasts.
