I was picking up a few last-minute items from Food Lion in Ruckersville and saw an end-counter display of marinades. I am always looking for good marinades and one caught my eye – it was a Sweet Apple Marinade made by Taste of Inspirations.
Sweet apple? That sealed the deal. I was having a pork tenderloin cooked on the grill and apples and pork go together like Robinson and Crusoe.
I bought it. It was out-of-site delicious.
The problem I have with most pork tenderloin marinade recipes is that the either end up tasting like soy sauce or garlic or both. They don’t leave that tantalizing after taste I want. This apple marinade was perfect – a little sweet with a bit of tang – apples, cinnamon, a touch of garlic and cayenne. I thin-sliced some of the leftover tenderloin for sandwiches the next day and they were as good or better than the tenderloin as an entrée. I didn’t put any more marinade on the sandwiches, but I could have.
This apple marinade would have many uses – chicken, pork and maybe even fish – like a tuna steak.
If you see any, try it. I’m sure it’s on-line if you can’t find it in the stores. I intend to try some of the other flavors from Taste of Inspirations – they make a bunch. I’ll keep you posted.
