I saw them in the bread aisle on my last grocery store excursion – Buttermilk English Muffins from Thomas, the clear frontrunner in English Muffins. They sounded good and I picked up a package. They were good, and from now on, this will be my muffin of choice. They make delicious toast when slathered with butter and set beneath a broiler, and they also make great sandwiches. And they are very easy to split apart.
The muffins have a rich buttermilk flavor and only 130 calories, which is less than 2 slices of bread. Thomas, of course, makes a host of muffins including cinnamon/raisin, blueberry, multi-grain, whole wheat, sour dough, and others, but this is their best muffin yet. They say it’s a limited edition, but I hope Sir Thomas will add these Buttermilk Muffins as a store regular. Try them and I think you’ll agree.
