What’s with eggs these days?
A few months ago, prices started to rise and stocks in the stores ran low, but in the last month or so, I have seen eggs at 58 cents a dozen, and they weren’t on sale, just priced way low. There must be some sort of glut in the marketplace, but I’m not complaining. We love eggs and eat lots of them.
There is one brand of eggs, however, that is head and shoulders above all the others, and that is Nature’s Promise Organic Brown Eggs.
I have found them only at Food Lion, and they are not always available, but they are clearly the highest quality eggs on the market.
I buy Free Range eggs often, not because I feel bad for the chickens, but because those eggs seem fresher and of a higher quality. I usually just pick out a dozen of whatever brand and I have been satisfied. But I bought a dozen of these Nature’s Promise Free Range eggs by chance, and they were as good or better than locally raised hen eggs we have bought directly from the farm.
The egg yolks are a bright orange. They are rich and delicious. The whites are also nice and firm.
The eggs are Certified Organic by Global Organic Alliance, Inc. Absolutely no hormones are used in the production. They are truly superior eggs.
Nature’s Promise Eggs run about the same price as other Free Range brands, often less than $3 a dozen, but they are a bargain. I don’t think Kroger’s, Harris Teeter or Wal-Mart ever carry them, but I understand that Giant does.
To me, they are so good that if I need a dozen or so eggs, I will go to Food Lion specifically and hope to find them in stock.
Look for them next time you shop. If you ever buy them, you will want more.
