Jimmy O, the legendary music maker of great songs from the past, is adding another winery to his limited playlist of venues. This Sunday, August 7, Jimmy will play Delfosse Vineyards in Faber. The Nelson County vineyard is located just 30 minutes south of Charlottesville.
Delfosse Vineyards & Winery is the newest entry into the growing list of great Virginia wineries and it boasts the only terraced vineyards in the state.
Delfosse was established in 2000 in the Monticello AVA wine region. The location is ideal, tucked among the hills of Nelson County, but with an elevation to guarantee not only flavorful wine, but also breathtaking views. The area, which spans over 330 acres, will eventually include five miles of hiking and biking trails; a functional spring for the bottling of spring water, and several historically preserved buildings.
Jimmy O will be playing at Delfosse this Sunday from 1 to 4 pm, so bring a few requests with you and your favorite dancing partner and join in the fun. This is a chance to sample some of the new Delfosse wines as well as an opportunity to add a few bottles to your cellar.
The directions from Charlottesville:
