The 13th Annual Adaptive Anglers on the Fly’s special Fly Fishing Camp is scheduled Nov. 18-20. The multi-generational group of adaptive anglers includes youth, seniors, teens, and adults – both male and female – from across the state and beyond. Some disabilities to be served include traumatic spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, spine bifida, primordial dwarfism, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, developmental and intellectual disabilities and other special needs. Volunteer Adaptive Guides from Thomas Jefferson TU, Therapeutic Adventures, university student volunteers from the Madison House at UVA and other community organizations will participate.
The adaptive anglers will be lodging at the beautiful Montfair Resort near White Hall and will be instructed in basic aquatic entomology as well as fly tying.
