The Texas Roadhouse is just around the corner from our house. It’s easy to get to, there are almost always a couple seats open at the bar (where we like to eat), the prices are fair, and the food is really good. Naturally, it’s one of our top choices for dining out.
Last week, I arrived home after a couple days on the road and we decided to hit “The Loud Place” for dinner. Nancy calls it the Loud Place because they are always whooping and hollering if anyone has a birthday or special occasion.
One of the top – if not the top – dishes at the Roadhouse is their Rib-Eye Streak with Grilled Shrimp. Fantastic! But the Country Fried Chicken sounded good, and I was in the mood for some Comfort Food. This entrée is the epitome of Comfort Food.
They served a very large piece of chicken that had been deep fried and smothered in gravy. I ate every morsel and sopped up any extra gravy with my mashed potatoes. I felt like I was eating in my grandmother’s kitchen. I had two of their homemade yeast rolls and a delicious Garden Salad and I was done. Stuffed to the gills. The Country Fried Chicken was only $10.99 but I would have gladly paid more. It was scrumptious.
Give Texas Roadhouse and the Country Fried Chicken a try next time you eat out and are ready for some Comfort Food at its finest.
