We recently enjoyed a perfect dining experience at The Outback Restaurant on 29 North. It was not just perfectly good, it was perfect. Food, service, everything. Just perfect.
Our server was Betty. She greeted us with water almost immediately and there was none of this, “How are you guys, tonight?”
She was most professional, introduced herself, offered to get us drinks and in short order, we had them. Just as ordered. She saw that we were not sure about what to order, and told us to take her time, but she didn’t abandon us as some waiters will. While we were deciding, she brought is a loaf of that fresh brown bread they bake in house. Delicious, as usual.
We decided to forego appetizers and just order dinner. Nancy has always liked a pasta dish from Outback with Chicken, Fettuccini and a Creamy Sauce, and ordered that.
Outback has a new Fried Chicken item they call “Bloomin-Fried Chicken.” It’s fried chicken breasts with their famous Bloomin’ Onion sauce. The chicken was fried to a golden brown and served hot and crispy. It was amazing. One of the best entrees I’ve ever had at Outback.
Our salads were delivered cool and crisp. Outback absolutely owns the title of “Best Caesar Salad” in town. It was, yes, perfect.
We used to enjoy so much the smaller Outback in Albemarle Square. We often made a last minute decision to eat there and pulled up to the bar for many great drinks and dinners. The newer and larger Outback at Seminole Square suffered at first from the lack of qualified cooks and servers, but they have it right now. Wine, cocktails, great food and service. Not only just right, it was perfect. We will be back soon.
