- Have your lawn aerated, reseeded, fertilized and limed
- Prepare flower and shrubbery beds. Don’t leave them uncovered – use mulch, straw, or peat moss to create a good winter blanket
- November is a good time to plant flower bulbs
- Clean your gutters before leaves start to fall to ensure that drains are functioning properly. At the same time, check your gutter nails to ensure tightness
- Don’t allow cracked or chipped paint to go unprotected over the winter.
- Replace any rotten wood along the sides of your home’s foundation before winter.
- Trim hedges if needed for the final time this year.
- Cut back any tree limbs that may be hanging over the gutters or over your home.
- Leaf removal is a must. Have them removed from the lawn and flowerbeds. They must be hauled away, but remember, a few leaves left make good compost. Too many create high amounts of acid on your lawn.
- Check exterior lighting
- Spray and weed areas with weed killer for the final time this year.
- Give your yard a neat appearance by having all debris removed.
- Prune any high-shooting stems from shrubbery for the final time this year.
- Change heating/cooling filters.
- Turn off garden faucets. Drain water from hoses after disconnecting from the spigot.
