You are not going to believe this, but there is a “Mattress Sale” in progress. Really. I wouldn’t lie. I know that a Mattress Sale is practically unheard of, but as I was driving down Rt. 29, I saw a sign in the window – “Mattress Sale”. It was at the Mattress Warehouse near Starbucks, across from Fashion Square Mall. I was stunned and had to check it out.
“Are you really having a mattress sale,” I asked Gavin, the young gentleman who greeted me.
“We are indeed having a mattress sale,” he responded.
I was so excited I went home and told my wife, Nancy. She couldn’t believe it either.
Really? A Mattress Sale?
As it turns out, we needed a new mattress. We got the one we now sleep on the day after Truman beat Dewey. Maybe it was the day before. I don’t remember. All I know is that the mattress is old and lumpier than an unstirred batch of pancake batter.
We worked with Gavin and slept around, so to speak. We tried most every mattress in the store and settled on a rather firm Sealy Mattress. We didn’t know he cost, but we knew we liked it – and it was on sale.
We got a terrific deal. The mattress comes tomorrow, and the guys will haul our old mattress and box springs away.
Mattress Warehouse is located at 1500 Seminole Trail and they’re good folks. Pay them a visit soon, though. Mattress Sales don’t last forever, you know.
