Flounder fishing is good. Fish in the 4-6 pounds range have been caught near the CBBT, the Cell and around wrecks.
Spadefish are hanging around the CBBT, many ocean buoys and the Light Tower. Anglers are floating fresh clam morsels to them on small hooks. If they are not aggressively feeding, try putting some chum in the water.
Water temperatures are in the mid to upper 70’s everywhere and there are lots of cobia throughout the bay. Sight casting is the most productive technique now. Live eels or live spot are your best baits but bucktails will work as well.
Spanish mackerel schools were harder to locate. The fish are scattered along the oceanfront from Sandbridge to Cape Henry and in the bay up to Reedville.
The inlets and rivers of the Bay, are producing speckled trout, puppy drum, croaker, and spot. Anglers are doing well with good numbers of spot in the Deltaville area. The shallower inlets containing grass have been good for the Specks. Topwater baits, popping corks, and small swim baits are top producers.
Anglers are catching lots of ribbonfish on diving plugs.
Schools of red drum have been surfacing in the lower Bay. If no one spooks the schools, angers can sight cast to them.
Sheepshead continue to bite on structure. Use marsh crabs on a jig head near bridge pilings.
Ocean structures are holding flounder, spadefish, and sea bass. The deeper wrecks hold sea bass, tilefish, and grouper. Amberjack are around the towers.
The charter boats are bringing in yellowfin tuna, blackfin tuna, big eye tuna, and mahi. White marlin releases are on the rise.

The water temp is a cooler 65 and that’s why the drum were on the beach. The piers were slow but picking up some blues and mullet. The offshore fleet found plenty of yellowfin, blackfin, and Mahi on Wednesday
Fun charters are available along with the shrimp and crabbing trips the shrimping is off to an early start with some nice size shrimp.
