When customers come into Nancy B’s showroom, we spend time answering questions about the fans we offer. With new technology and materials, today’s ceiling fans deliver comfort everywhere in the home, even outdoors. We know fans create a breeze that is cooling and provides us comfort.
Fans also help heat a room by changing the direction of the blade rotation. Adding a fan can result in significant energy savings by circulating warm and cool air through the year. Many of the fans we offer are Wi-Fi-enabled allowing on-off, blade speed and direction the blades rotate via an app on smart or voice-enabled devices.
Our wet-rated fans are designed for outdoors but can be used indoors as well. These fans have sealed housings and blade materials that withstand the elements. You can use our wet-rated fans in humid areas and bathrooms too. Stronger fans are using DC motors rather than AC, they are smaller, quieter, and more efficient.
There should always be at least 7 feet of clearance under the fan blades. If your ceiling is 8 feet, the standard 4 inch or 6 inch down rod which comes with the fan should be used, however there are low ceiling adapters available should you need it closer to the ceiling. Following are some suggestions to help in determining the correct size of down rod to use:
9-foot ceiling height, consider a 12 inch down rod, a 10 foot, an 18 in, 12 foot a 24 in, 14 foot a 36-inch, 16 foot a 48 inch, an 18 foot 60 inch and a 20 foot or higher, use a 72 inch down rod. Remember, when on the high speed, it is natural for the fan to sway a bit when hanging from a long down rod.
And finally, here are some
suggestions for blade size for your rooms:
8 x 10 room a 44 inch; 10 x 12 space a 52 inch; up to 12 x 15 area, 56 to 60 inch;
18 x 20, 60 to 66 inch; and over 18 x 20 areas 65 to 96. Check out
our “Fandeliers”, they are
wonderful, they really move the air and are smaller.
