Wow, yum, delicious, outstanding, incredible, and perfect are my words that described our dinner at Public Fish & Oyster. I had the pleasure of taking our son Jimmie and our daughter Laura to dinner and spending time with them. So many things were offered on the menu, but we decided to go with the Poseidon’s Tower. It was beautiful and looked like a piece of art. The tower consisted of 2 dozen oysters on the half shell, 10 cocktail shrimp, smoked trout dip with flavorful fried crackers, 2 clusters of snow crab legs and their daily crudo, which was raw tuna. My mouth is watering again.
Public Fish & Oyster specializes in fresh seafood, and their raw bar is delectable. Their service is friendly and attentive, and you are treated as prized guests.
We decided to eat outside under the tent on a lovely October evening. I will certainly be going back and give them a 5-star rating. Charlottesville has many great places to dine but this is surely on the top of the list.
The restaurant is located at 513 W. Main Street in Charlottesville. Reservations are recommended (434-995-5542).
