Cobia reports are increasing in the bay, with the lower bay and oceanfront, claiming most of the action. Red drum fishing has been non-stop with some big black drum in the mix. Catches of flounder, Spanish and bluefish are improving daily.
At Virginia Beach, it’s Spanish and puppy drum caught in the surf and from the piers. The Sea Bass bite has been excellent on offshore wrecks.
On the Outer Banks, there have been some large pompano caught in the Hatteras surf, along with sea mullet, bluefish, and puppy drum. The pier fishermen are hauling in Spanish and blues and nearshore boats are enjoying the same catches. The offshore fleet is finding blackfin tuna, Mahi, and blue marlin.
