
On Thursday, there were sea mullet and bluefish scattered along the beaches. Pompano were beached at Ramp 48 and a couple of nice drum were caught in Buxton. Frisco anglers put trout in their coolers. Sea mullet were scattered on the beaches from Kitty Hawk to the Inlet. Rough seas have made surf fishing challenging the last few days.
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported keeper trout, stripers, flounder and bottom fish.
Jennette’s Pier produced nice catches of bluefish, pompanos and sea mullet.
Inshore boats landed trout, keeper flounder and red drum. The head boat also sailed and reported sea mullet, blues and gray trout.
One boat fished offshore despite rough seas and loaded up on dolphin. Earlier in the week, when boats could get out, they bombed the billfish. There were 36 white marlin landed. One boat had 15 whites, 2 blue marlin and 3 sailfish. The dolphin fishing was also outstanding.
