Hamburger Gravy and Mashed Potatoes: the ultimate in comfort food. Nothing fancy, just a scrumptious way to prepare a quick and easy dinner and one that will leave everyone at the table loosening up their belts a notch or two.
The dish begins with a pound and a half of lean ground beef, I like the 93/7 blend.
Break the hamburger into small pieces and put in a hot skillet with 2 cloves minced garlic and ½ of a small, diced onion.
Brown ground beef, onion and garlic until no pink remains. Do not drain any of the fat. Add 2 T Worcestershire Sauce. Sprinkle 4 T flour into the skillet and cook for about 2 minutes, until all the flour is absorbed. Add 1 ½ C milk, 1 ½ C Beef broth, 2 beef bouillon cubes, cover and let simmer for 10 minutes. Serve over a bed of mashed potatoes and enjoy, 1 1/2 pound very lean ground beef
½ small onion diced
2 cloves garlic minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 1/2 C milk
1 1/2 C beef broth
2 beef bouillon cubes
