On our drive to and from Atlanta over the holidays, we saw gasoline as low as $2.17 a gallon, and it’s trending even lower. Currently, gasoline is the cheapest it’s been in five years. As a reminder, in 2022 under Biden, gas was nearly $5 per gallon. Affordable? Hardly!
In other tidbits of good news, the Gross Domestic Product was up 4.3% last month, nearly 50% higher than predicted. The Dow Jones Average is now tickling $5,000 which has added over $20,000 to the average American’s 401(K) plan. In addition, the inflation rate was down last month to just 2.7 %. It peaked at 9.1 % under Biden in June 2022.
The reason I am citing these statistics is because if you only rely on network television or newspapers for your information, any good news about the current administration and economy is missing in action.
Sure, things aren’t perfect and you may have to pay an extra $20 for a cashmere sweater at Macy’s, but the average Soccer Mom filling up her SUV every week is now able to put an extra $100 a month back in her purse.
I’d say that’s certainly more affordable and things are looking up.
