A bracket for a sliding shelf in our Maytag refrigerator recently broke. I was willing to let it ride and do without, but Nancy said she wanted to order a new one. Last week, Nancy said the part was in and could I pick it up at Davis Appliances.
“Sure,” I said. “Where is Davis Appliances?”
I knew we had such a store in town, but I had never been there. She said it was on East High Street, not far from Jack & Jill.
Jack & Jill, I know. I have suffered from indigestion after gulping down their Foot Long Hot Dogs for as long as I can remember, so I eased up E. High Street before finally spotting the inconspicuous store on the left.
It’s an inconspicuous white and brick building and the small showroom is not at all impressive, nothing like the old Ron Martin showroom, the Big Box stores and others, but their service is huge. Very nice people and most accommodating. They had quickly found our part and offered to install it at an affordable cost.
