As most know, I am a huge fan of Aldi’s. Their prices are hands down the lowest anywhere. Even Wal-Mart, and I like their products. One especially. Their sausage from Appleby Farms.
I am a sausage lover. I prefer Gunnoe’s over Jimmy Dean, but if it’s sausage, I’ll eat it. One thing I’ve noticed about inexpensive sausage is that it’s full of fat. Fry a half dozen pieces and they float to the top in grease. At first, I was a bit skeptical about even trying Aldi’s sausage because it’s only $3.19 a pound, far less that the brand names. But I took a chance, fried a batch and it is delicious. The sausage has a wonderful flavor, not overly “spicey or sagey” and it has just enough grease leftover that you can fry a couple eggs in the pan. We have also used Aldi’s sausage in casseroles and omelets, and it works like a charm.
If you like sausage as much as I do, stop by Aldi’s and get a pound of their Appleby Farms Premium Pork Sausage, and I guarantee you’ll be back for more.
