Each morning, Nancy and I brew a big pot of coffee. We prefer a milder blend, and our favorite is Chock full o’Nuts. Sometimes, however, when you go to an Air B&B, they only offer Keurig-type coffee makers, and you have to bring your own pods. The nice thing about a Keurig is that you can make just one cup if you want, and you can offer several types of blends to suit various tastes. The bad thing about the Keurig-type pods is that they are expensive, unless you buy a case of 72 or 84, which defeats the purpose of offering an assortment. So, we usually keep a few pods around for guests but rely on our trusty coffee pot.
On our recent trip to Pennsylvania, we didn’t know what kind of coffee device our B&B would have, so we decided to bring pods, just in case. I went by Aldi’s to check out their coffee pod selection. They offered their Breakfast Blend, 100 Arabic Coffee, for $4.57 for a 12-pack. I bought 2 boxes and the coffee is delicious – a nice, rich flavor but not overly strong. And $4,57? You can’t beat that. I continue to be amazed by the prices and quality of the products at Aldi’s. Their selection is often limited, but their value is not.
If you are a Pod Person, try Aldi’s for taste and price.
