Nancy had been up since O-Dark-Thirty getting our daughter to the airport for an early morning flight, and it was nearing breakfast time on a Sunday morning. I usually fix a big breakfast on Sunday mornings, but Nancy suggested we eatout, so we did. We drove up to the Woodbrook Shopping Center and found a table in Sam’s Kitchen and had a breakfast worthy of royalty.
Nancy likes their Bountiful Breakfast which includes 2 eggs any style, your choice of bacon, sausage or ham and a stack of five huge pancakes, all for $10.50, or you can also trade up and get Country Ham or Corned Beef Hash as a meat. Nancy loves their Corned Beef Hash and ordered that.
Sam’s Kitchen offers the ultimate in comfort food. In fact, that’s all they offer. Nothing fancy, just great diner food and breakfast anytime of the day.
The cozy diner is neat and clean with a friendly wait staff. They cook everything to order, so the service isn’t speedy fast, but you can enjoy juice and coffee while the cooks are busy at work.
Their prices are also quite reasonable, and so far, they do not have a sur-charge on eggs as do many restaurants these days. I really can’t blame them since they are having to pay triple the price of just a few months back thanks to the Avian Flu and egg shortage.
Sam’s Kitchen is not fancy or pretentious. It’s just a great place to eat food that fills your belly and tastes like Mamma made it.
The restaurant is located at 1863 Seminole Trail. The hours are from 7 till 3 PM. Reservations are not necessary.
