We did a lot of “Eating Out” last weekend on our Deltaville getaway. We supped at The Galley and The Front Porch and visited the Deltaville Raw Bar and Grill for drinks, but the best dining experience came when we ate in.
Wanting to enjoy our last evening and not have to worry about the 20 mile or so drive into town and back, we stopped at J & W’s Seafood during our mid-day trip to Deltaville and bought our supplies.
The well-stocked store sells lots of freshly caught fish, shrimp and crabs, plus it has a nice deli with great sides and appetizers. We went with Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, Deviled Crabs, Spiced Shrimp, plus homemade Cole Slaw and Potato Salad from the Deli. To that assortment, we added the puppy drum I caught from the dock, and we feasted like kings.
We only had one pan to clean, so it was as easy as it was delicious. If you find your way near the Deltaville area, stop by J & W’s Seafood at 16552 General Puller Hwy (Main Street) and check out the great assortment of fresh seafood. And eat in.
