We have had rabbits in our yard and garden before, but never like this. They are everywhere – big ones, middle sized ones and baby ones. It’s the baby rabbit in my yard that’s killing me. This a two fence rabbit.
Noting all the rabbits this spring and recalling how they have wiped out my beans and cucumbers in bygone years, Nancy and I decided to put a two foot fence around my garden. “That will teach the thieving rascals,” I thought.
Well, it taught all but one. The baby rabbit (I hope there’s just one) can squeeze through the slats in the fence and I don’t even think they are an inch and a half wide.
So…..Give up or take action?
Off we were for the thousandth time this spring to Lowe’s. What little money we may have saved by not going out to eat in three months has gone to Lowe’s. I should have bought stock.
We found a netting type fence with one inch squares. If that rabbit can get through that and both fences, he can have the damned beans. Except I do have a pellet gun with a scope. This time he better stay out.
