If you find yourself with nothing to do on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, buckle up the kids and head for Liberty Mills Farm in Somerset and explore the largest corn Maze in Virginia. While you’re at it, take a wheelbarrow out into the pumpkin patch and hand select a big, fat pumpkin for Halloween.
This year, Liberty Mills has 12 miles of paths and has designed four trails in their huge corn maze ranging from about a half-hour to several hours (assuming you can find your way out). Along the way, there are signs posted with trivia and other tidbits. It’s a fun day. Liberty Mills also has a gift shop with some killer hand-dipped ice cream and unique gifts.
The Corn Maze is open through November 11 and the Pumpkin Patch is accessible until Oct. 31 or when they run pout out of pumpkins, whichever comes first.
