Wanna really indulge yourself, or maybe put a few children on a cloud of pure elation? Then make a batch of Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies.
I saw this recipe someplace recently, and since I do a little cooking for a family with three kids, I thought I’d give it a shot.
It’s really good and quite a treat for any choc-aholic.
You start with a package of Thin Oreos. Don’t know why they make them thin. I guess since they make them fat, with Double Stuffed Oreos, they wanted something more diet conscience (as if!).
Anyway, the Thin Oreos work better than either the Mini Oreos or the regular size.
For starters, I use Krusteaz Chocolate Chip Cook mix. How can you go wrong with a mix that includes chocolate chips, eggs and butter? When I had thoroughly mixed the dough, I formed small balls and flattened them out to extend just beyond the embedded cookie. Put one on top and one on the bottom of the cookie. You can squeeze the sides shut, but if they overlap slightly, they will seal shut on their own.
I baked the cookies for 12 minutes in a 360 oven. They were golden brown and oozing with goodness.
Make a kid happy. Bake a batch!
1 pack thin Oreo Cookies
1 box Krusteaz Chocolate Chip Cookie mix
1 Stick butter
1 large egg
