They may be the best cookies you’ve ever put in your mouth and they come from a mix. They’re easy to bake, they are beyond delicious and Christmas is coming. Time to bake a batch of Krusteaze Vanilla Butter Sugar Cookies.
I had never bought any Krusteaze mixes till early this spring when I tried their Blueberry Muffin mix. They were so good, I have since bought several mixes including muffin, pancake and cookie mixes. A few weeks back I had some youngsters I knew that really needed some cookies and the vanilla sugar cookie mix by Krusteaze looked good. I baked several dozen and the kids fought over them. They are spectacular. And if you sprinkle a little green and red sugar dots on top, you may have the perfect Christmas cookies just in time for the holidays.
The instructions are on the box, but here goes anyway – to show you how easy they are to make and what goes into them.
1 Box Krusteaze Vanilla Butter Sugar Cookies
1 egg
1 stick softened butter
Heat oven to 350°F. If necessary, soften cold butter in microwave on HIGH power for 10-15 seconds. For best results, do not melt butter.
Stir together egg, butter and cookie mix until dough forms, hand kneading if necessary. Scoop dough according to desired cookie size and place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake as directed, about 10 minutes per batch or until light golden brown around edges. Cool 5 minutes and remove from pan. Store cooled cookies in airtight container, but odds are, if there are kids around, there won’t be any leftovers..
Makes about 36 cookies per box and the mix sells for about $2.50 at Kroger’s.
