I have printed this recipe several times, but it’s so good, who’s counting?
My wife and a group of her early morning exercise friends meet periodically for breakfast. Sometimes they go to a local restaurant and sometimes they meet at someone’s home. A couple years back, they came over to our house and I volunteered to cook for them. One of the dishes I served was a blueberry cobbler, sort of. The girls called it “blueberry stuff”, but they loved it and ate every morsel. Over the years, by popular demand, I cooked it again and again for them.
This is a fairly standard recipe, nothing special, but it is incredibly delicious – good for breakfast or as a dessert for the holidays. If you make some, make a lot, it’s great as a leftover. Here is how I make my large batch of “Blueberry Stuff.”
The secret to any dessert or sweet is butter, lots of butter, so I begin my recipe by melting a stick and a half of butter in a casserole dish in the microwave. Next, mix 1 3/4 cups of Bisquick mix with ¾ cup of sugar and stir with a whisk. When blended, add 1 cup of whole milk. Stir out all the lumps, then pour the mixture directly on the melted butter. Don’t mix the butter and the mixture. It will all work out in the end. Finally, add 4 full cups of fresh blueberries on top.
Put the dish in a 350 oven and cook for about 45 minutes. When it’s golden brown, it’s done. Try it sometime. It’s awfully easy and it really is “good stuff!”
