V.B.R.O. Vacation rental by owner. We had never used this service before, but from now on, we won’t go anywhere without first checking into this by-owner web site.
Our anniversary falls on March 3 and we always like to go somewhere and get out of town, even just for a few days. For our 50th, we hopped aboard a Norwegian Cruise Liner and toured Hawaii, but that wasn’t in the cards this go around. We decided on a three-day, Nags Head getaway – one of our favorite destinations.
Nancy went on-line at vrbo.com and sent me a picture of a place she found. It was magnificent! A two-bedroom condo on the 3rd floor of Pier View Condos overlooking the Atlantic.
It was about $130 a night, a tremendous deal, I thought.
The condo was totally updated with hardwood and ceramic floors (no awful, sandy carpet), granite counters, cherry cabinetry, stainless appliances and beautiful, new furniture.
The deck overlooking the ocean was spacious, big enough to eat on, though a stiff breeze kept us indoors most of the time. The unit was completely furnished. With dishes, pots, pans and utensils – even champagne flutes!
It was located in South Nags Head, just south of Jennette’s Pier and in the middle of all the beach action – such as it was on an early March weekend.
VRBO is very selective about their listings. They were most efficient with information and instructions and we had not left the town of Nags Head on the way home before they contacted us to see how things went.
They went marvelously.
If you have not used VRBO, you should.
