Every product I’ve ever tried from Trader Joe’s has been first-rate. It is a great grocery store. But I hate going there.
First of all, I hate Stonefield Shopping Center. It’s the devil to get in and out of and the parking is screwy. Apparently, others agree with my assessment and many of the storefronts are vacant and a number of restaurants there have failed.
Trader Joe’s, a smaller store anyway, is often crowded (except during Covid days – they limit the number of customers) and the aisles get tight. But they sell some dynamite food.
Trader Joe’s is a chain of grocery stores based out of California. They now have well over 500 stores in 42 states. Everybody, seemingly, loves Trader Joe’s.
One of the best things in the store is their Trader’s Joe’s Brand Tempura Shrimp. There is not an Asian restaurant in town that serves any better shrimp at any price. They are heavenly, and priced most reasonably at $8.99 for ten nicely-wrapped and sealed shrimp. They make super-duper appetizers, or as an entrée or part of an entrée.
And they are easy to prepare and serve. Toss them in a 400 degree oven for about ten minutes and they come out hot, crispy and delicious. The dipping sauce that comes with the shrimp is also very good.
If you keep a pack or two of these shrimp in your freezer, you will always have instant appetizers for unexpected company.
Trader Joe’s Tempura Shrimp – good stuff!
