When we were packing for Hawaii last year, I discovered my only pair of tennis shoes was falling apart. Literally. One sole came completely off. Since some walking was required on a few of our Aloha State excursions, I went shopping for a pair of casual shoes. I shop for shoes only when an existing pair falls apart. My wife, Nancy, however, likes to shoe-shop on any day of the week ending in “…day”. She’s really good at it. I’m not.
I know names like Bass Weejuns, Florsheim and U.S, Keds, but little else, so I went to one of those big stores just for shoes and looked for something I could slip on, and not have to bend and tie. I saw some blue shoes made out of a synthetic mesh. I tried them on, they fit perfectly and they were with me every step of the way in Hawaii. They are called Skechers.
Not being a professional shoe shopper, I had never heard of Skechers, but it turns out they are most popular and known for extreme comfort. Lots of research went into constructing the arches for support and comfort. A podiatrist designed the arch supports for all-day comfort. Mine are so comfortable and versatile that I often wear them on the golf course as golf shoes. The soles are pretty much non-slip and I don’t have to worry about… “Did you leave your golf shoes at home?”
Maybe you already know how great these shoes are. If not, look for the name Skechers, try on a pair and you’ll be (pardon the pun) soled.
