I wrote about these neat little storage bags a few months ago, but the more I use them, the more impressed I am. They are called Rezips, reusable storage bags. Before we left for 8 days on our Hawaiian Cruise, I had left some ham in one of the Rezip bags. When we returned, the ham was as fresh as before we left. That’s because the Rezips are airtight. They are also watertight and freezer safe. I have found them to be a great way to travel with sandwiches. The heavy-duty bags keep the sandwiches from getting crushed. And they are reusable.
How many zip-locks do we use each week, that end up tossed in the trash? More plastic in the landfills. You can use Rezips repeatedly, saving money on zip-locks. You can also put them in the dishwasher. I usually just fill mine up with hot, soapy water, rinse and stand upside down to dry, but they are dishwasher safe.
They make these bags in all sizes, including stand-up sizes. How convenient they are to stand up, side by side, in the fridge, where you can see what you have stored. They are genuine space savers.
I recently discovered that they make a stand-up cereal size. The cereal stays fresh longer in the air-tight bags and the bags are far less bulky than the boxes.
Nancy is still coming around slowly to the versatility of these bags, but I intend to buy more in different shapes and sizes, I’m tired of going through box after box of zip-loc bags and I love the way these handy Rezips keep foods fresh. Try some. You’ll also be impressed.
