Nancy and I are blessed with a sprawling, tree-shaded patio in our backyard. Since the grass wouldn’t grow among all the tree roots, we poured concrete and created a nice outdoor room, which we thoroughly enjoy.
But!
Here comes summer and 90 degree weather, which makes sitting outside beside our new goldfish pond– even in the shade – not so enjoyable.
Christmas before last, Nancy had the good sense to put an outdoor fan on her wish list, and my daughter Angelin and husband Brent came through. It is an oscillating fan that you can leave outdoors. It doesn’t rust and resists all types of weather.
The fan is easy to assemble – I did it by myself without the aid of Valium – and it works like a charm. When we first tried it, it didn’t work, but the lady at the factory said to try it hooked directly in the socket without an extension cord and now it works great. I suppose that since it’s used outdoors, leaky extension cords aren’t acceptable.
The fan is a Costway 16-inch, dual blade, adjustable model with a three speed remote and control timer. It costs less than sixty bucks.
The fan is quiet, efficient and makes sitting outside, even on a hot summer evening, a pleasant experience.
