Looking for a great Christmas gift for that person who has everything, or for someone you’re not quite sure what to give? May I suggest some goodies from Mauna Loa?
Last spring when Nancy and I went on a cruise to Hawaii, we stopped at a macadamia plantation, Mauna Loa, where we were able to tour a massive macadamia operation, one of Hawaii’s key exports, and we also stopped by the company store on the premises and to sample some of their wares. If it has to do with a macadamia nut, Mauna Loa has it and many of their treats are beyond delicious.
Mauna Loa, by the way, is one of five volcanoes that form the Island of Hawaii in the U.S. state of Hawaii in the Pacific Ocean. The largest sub aerial volcano in both mass and volume, Mauna Loa has historically been considered the largest volcano on Earth, dwarfed only by Tamu Massif.
Since we were worried about our bags weighing too much to fly home, we didn’t stock up at the store, but rather waited until we returned to Charlottesville where I ordered a big assortment of nuts and confections as a gift to Nancy for Mother’s Day. We blitzed though that assortment and ordered more.
Some of the Mauna Loa goodies include Milk Chocolate Coffee Glazed Macadamias, Maui Onion & Garlic (super delicious), Milk Chocolate Toffee, Roasted Salted, Honey Roasted and lots of other macadamia nut combinations and specialties.
Mauna Loa offers both gift and variety packs. The various nuts make ideal appetizers to spread out for a holiday gathering and they are just plain delicious.
Go to shopMaunaLoa.com and check out their holiday specials. This is really good stuff. Try some!
