John Koss has been in the sauce again. Actually, he’s into the sauce every day. That’s what John does. He makes Koss Sauce, a barbeque sauce, and it’s quite good.
I find that most barbeque sauces at the store taste exactly the same. They are all super sweet and heavy. I’m not crazy about sweet sauces on roast pork for a barbeque sandwich. I like vinegar and pepper sauces for that. But I enjoy a spicier sauce on ribs and John’s “Koss Sauce” fits the bill without being overly sweet. The vinegar base in his sauce helps balance the brown sugar and molasses he also uses.
John and his wife Dianna have been in the barbeque business for a number of years, cooking and smoking pigs and chickens for others. Since they were often asked about their special family sauce recipe, the Kosses decided to manufacture their own and have sold over a thousand bottles in their first year.
John says his sauce is quite versatile and can be used on pork, chicken and even some seafood.
John hails from Louisa County and is an avid hunter and sportsman. If you’d like more information about Koss Sauce and would like to try a bottle or two, go to KossSauce.com.
