Emeril Lagasse was on TV on Super Bowl afternoon hawking his new Emeril Lagasse Power AirFryer. He cooked up a bunch of dishes that looked amazing.
I have been interested in buying an air fryer. Sam’s Club and others have a number of them for sale. The thought of being able to fry foods (which I love) without all the grease and oil is most appealing. But do they really work?
Emeril’s fryer is advertised as most versatile. It will do everything from toast bread, to air-fry, re-heat, bake, rotisserie cook, roast, broil, cook bagels, turkeys, pizza. It will also slow cook and keep things warm. Sounds too good to be true.
But Emeril says you can crisp and cook your favorite meals in superheated hot air instead of hot fat. Intuitive heating combined with 360° seamless air flow helps reduce cooking time and produces evenly cooked, crispier results, he says.
But is it true?
Does anybody have any experience with hot air frying? If so, I’d appreciate hearing about it. I’m really interested, but I don’t need another useless appliance.
Let me know.
