I hard boil a lot of eggs – for egg salad, deviled eggs, for snacks, for chicken and tuna salad, and my go-to method has been to steam them for 15 minutes on the stove top. Steaming makes for easy peeling, even on fresher eggs.
But there is an easier way. I saw in one of the recipes I was using, a way to hard boil eggs quickly and easily in an air fryer. I decided to try it, figuring the worst thing that could happen would be if the eggs exploded in the air fryer.
I put 4 eggs in the air fryer on 250 for 17 minutes, then transferred them immediately to an ice bath. When they had cooled, I peeled them easily and they were perfect.
This saves both time and energy and I didn’t even have to clean the air fryer basket. No more boiling on the stove for me when it’s egg cooking time. You can also soft boil eggs in the fryer, but I haven’t worked that out yet. My guess would be 7 minutes. I’ll let you know.
