I shop at Harris Teeter on occasion, but not regularly. It’s not as convenient for me, and the prices seem higher. But I went there last week to check out their seafood. They often have great Argentine Shrimp and fresh flounder. The flounder looked good, so I bought it, then saw some breakfast sausage in their custom meat counter and bought a pound. Over in their hamburger display I noted Ground Strip Steak for $8.99 a pound. I bought that, too. Both the sausage and ground meat were excellent.
Harris Teeter grinds and seasons their own sausage, and the sausage has mostly lean meat and very little fat. There was barely enough grease left to fry an egg. It is excellent sausage, nice and spicey, close to homemade and I will be buying it more often.
I also enjoyed the Ground Strip Steak burger. Nancy didn’t care for it because it wasn’t like ordinary ground meat with lots of fat content. It was like eating a ground-up strip steak, very lean, but it had excellent flavor
This is why I would never let anyone pick out my groceries with a call-in order. Poking around the grocery store and finding neat products like these is half the fun.
Try their sausage and ground strip steaks. They’re both very good.
